Managing multiple chars in Razor

How does everyone manage their multiple characters inside Razor, i.e. different hotkeys, and dress macros and such.
It was find when I had one char. But now that I'm running 4 different chars its starting to get confusing!....lol

Any advice.....

@halygon .....you always seem to have great answers!...lol

On the general tab in Razor towards the bottom you'll see "Character Profile". There's an option to create new.

I made a separate profile for each type of character.

I have:

Tamer
Mage
Dexxer
Provo
Default

For the most part all of my mage characters use the same macros. My dexxers have their own set of macros.

It's easy to change in an out of profiles on the fly.

I don't personally use the razor profiles, but one handy trick is to set a hotkey for toggling razor hotkeys on/off, it's the first option in the hotkeys tab, at the top. For this particular function, it's probably best to set the hotkey to use either alt, ctrl or shift + something.

This way you can use all your keys such as numbers and letters and then toggle them off to talk, or while in towns so you dont ebolt a blue by accident etc.

I find it best to have hotkeys universal between all chars.

And can each profile load automatically when you log into different chars?
I generally have to check and make sure the right profile is loaded when I log in, but I use Steam so I'm not sure if you'll have to do that on Razor or not. But yes, they do let you re-use hotkeys.

So these "profiles" allow different chars to share the same hotkeys and such?.....

Profiles do not share configuration, they are independent of other profiles I believe. They do link to characters, but only one at a time -- which auto-selects the profile when you log on to different characters.

@Kareem is right though. When it comes to profiles and spliting up your configuration, I find that using UOSteam works much better. You can duplicate profiles so that each character has their own and such.

I recommend trying both programs and seeing which one works best for you.

I haven't given Steam a fair shake.....but wasn't impressed with a quick look. Its mostly laziness not wanting to set everything back up.
I hear Steams better for pvp......true? And is Steam that much better? Ive heard mixed reviews.

I used Razor when I first started playing, but only because Steam wasn't working. As soon as I figured out what was wrong with it and fixed it I started using it exclusively because it's much easier for me to learn to use than Razor.

Sorry if my response to this thread is rude, but you don't know how many times I've suggested steam over razor. I feel like every 5 threads I have to have this discussion. So my apologies.
Bottom line, who ever gave uosteam a bad review was too stupid to figure it out

Is

this a serious question?

Thats what the ? stands for. Far as I knew we could only have 3 Accounts. So 3 x 1 = 3. Where did the 4 come from? Unless I'm unaware of changes or being able to be logged onto multiple characters per account. So yes Kareem it is a serious question.

No one asked the obvious. How are you running 4 chars when you can only have 3 accoints?
You get three free character slots per account - a total of nine free characters. And then you can buy additional character slots from the gold sink vendor. So far it sounds like Tharakus has only used four of his nine free character slots. He did not say he was running four characters simultaneously. ^^
