Player solutions?
Short of a very few times elite pvpers were fighting them. Its mostly us little guys who are so so at pvp, such as myself that are standing up to them. This all out war fights I havent seen ANY of the great pvpers I've come to respect on this server?
Why is that???? Cause those elite pvpers recognize that imbalance and are seemingly staying away.
I did see POWER come in at one point today and go after.
So kudos POWER!!

The only way I can think of combating ganking without crippling the solo/small group players is to induce a sort of "attrition" by incurring instant stat loss on players who are ganking. The more players attacking a single target, the larger the reduction of their effectiveness.

I think your onto something here!

I think we're finally seeing the reason that the original UO rules included permanent stat loss, short term counts, and reds banned from guard zones. On free servers with low populations (compared to the original numbers of official UO servers circa t2a) it hasn't been as much of an issue. But obviously given enough time, the original issues will surface. If you can't deal with being banned from guard zones and suffering consequences when you die, then don't be red. Previously, people would complain that the above rules would break pvp and discourage people from being PK's. I think the hard truth has always been that if you can't deal with the repercussions, then don't be a murderer. Once upon a time reds were something to be feared. Now they're a dime a dozen. The balance is broken.

EQMS are not a problem. Just band together to counter them. Most of them are terrible players that rely on sheer numbers. Rekt roles a pretty big blue zerg... Join them. Fight back. Stop crying to the creators.

If you remove the statloss free zone pvp will almost end. Leave it as it is.

Anyway most spawns are trammel online. I'm in POWER, we roll a few on the weekends but that's about it. I've only see a handful been taken by EQMS as well. It's not a big issue.

They are not that big of a deal. Why is everyone talking about "the great balance is broken."

Not so dramatic as all that. But it's shifting to the point where some people feel the biggest group should win. In that case why have guards? fuck it, eat or be eaten, right?

But that's not what UO is about. If you want to go that direction, that's cool. But that's not the game I came to play.

Ridiculous to be talking about getting rid of the no cut zone. I mean do we want pvp on this server or not? How many champs get done a day and how many get raided by eqms?

@Shane I'd rather see player driven solutions to the red menace than heavy handed nerfs. Player driven solutions ARE out there and I think it's a bad idea to give in to stuff like this every time. Sometimes the squeaky when doesn't need grease it needs to be told to harden the fuck up.

With that said, keep in mind the number one reason people have always left UO FOREVER is due to being pk'd too much. Our server almost died when we first launched because there was no punishments to reds and it was rampant.

If it gets to a point where people start quitting because of too many pk's, there's an unbalance because unfortunately we cannot FORCE people to join up and play together as a solution.

We can give rewards for such acts, but i'm honestly getting tired of giving rewards as a way to get people to do things here. We are looking at other options, and are open to all suggestions.

I'm mainly an anti-PK, I rely on reds to keep myself in business, so to speak. Obviously discouraging people from being red too extremely is bad for everyone. But there's a reason OSI had such harsh punishments for murderers. Dedicated reds can call me trammy all they want, but isn't wanting it easier for themselves a bit contradictory?

I miss the days when being red MEANT something. You sacrificed a lot to kill. There was a reason for that.

I just think one of the main issues is them being able to consistently come back after they die, and basically having no penalties for pking.

The system that we have now does work, it's just working too well at the moment. Just needs some tweaks, we are looking into different ways. It wasn't built in the idea really of a group of 20 reds all on at one time in the same guild.

Just growing pains.

No Penalties? I was in stat for 2 days. God forbid blues put aside their egos, work together, and adapt. Look @ Pokemon>EQMS post by POWER who handled 10+ reds with just 3 people.

1. We rarely goto dungeons unless theres some sort of event(champ, etc) -- we quit UOF the first time because dungeon PKing gets old. We are PVPers looking for a fight -- we are red factioners because we want to be able to kill anyone we see and get the most pvp possible.

2. Is EQMS the only group thats capable of grouping up and working together? Why are we being punished for our organizational skills? Show me another guild that charges 100k for members to join as a way to keep down mass recruits.
Does not the Rekt/Hi alliance have 50 actives? Why dont they group up and pvp against us? This is the same kind of b.s. that ruined OSI -- instead of people working together, they'd rather cry to the admins for nerfs(cough cough CoM).

3. There is no God but Gluttony and Peepin Tom is his prophet.

TL/DR: Group up and fight us, UO is meant to be a game where you can work together and accomplish whatever you want, we do.

Listen to @Wrexx instead of people who are going to quit because they get pk'd. You don't have to force or reward people for banding together, that will happen naturally and already is.

Giving in to the crying is a mistake.

My suggestion is give it another month or two and see where things sit. I bet there will be a large counter EQMS group that forms.

You talk about people leaving the server? Dude I know for a fact this server is fucking BLOWING UP right now. People love the pvp action and pulling the rug out from under that is not going to help the server grow. You're listening to people crying about being pk'd in fucking UO. They are going to quit? And go where??? Give me a break.

I honestly think people are making EQMS out to be more harmful then they really are. I farm a lot on my Provo tamer, more than 90% of anyone in this game. I have never come across EQMS while farming. The only time I have come across them is where I choose too. Brit bridge or recalling into where I know they are at.

We barely dungeon PK, we only do it when theres no one to fight in the PVP zone setup for...PVP.

Do not make any changes to the current pk system, it's fine for now. People honestly need to think a bit harder. This is coming from a Trammel Provo tamer.

A trammy who knows what UO is about.... *tips fedora to Wrexx*

A lot of people are saying that reds don't have stat loss. Maybe they don't know about the bounty system.

I say, remove the ability for reds to auto buy heads back. If they die, and their head gets turned in, they should go into stat loss.

A new idea could be to remove the bounty system entirely and force reds to pay a certain amount of gold per kill before we can even res. This can be paid by any player (including the reds alts) as apart of some new bounty system. Forcing us to pay the bounty on an alt before we can even res up. Would be a good gold sink and end game feature.

1k per kill could work. This way even if a player has 12 reds, they would eventually not be able to afford to play.
This idea sounded good in my head but as I re read it, I'm not sure lol...
I'll post it anyway. Maybe it'll inspire something similar by more intelligent minds.
