The Vesper Commerce Commission is proud to announce that its licensing program has officially launched! Let it be known that all waters are hereby claimed as private assets by the naval authority of the Vesper Commerce Commission. Any ships found at sea unlicensed or improperly registered with the Commission are subject to engagement, whereupon any goods will be seized as contraband while affected parties may suffer fines, injury or even death!

In order to be licensed, a ship and her crew must be in good standing with the Vesper Commerce Commission. In addition, a weekly fee of 25,000 gold or a monthly payment of 100,000 gold must be paid to the Commission in order to maintain shipping, wrecking and fishing activities. Please note this is a private license for business related enterprises, not a letter of marque; the Commission does not grant ships the rights to act upon other vessels in its name.
Contact a member of the Vesper Commerce Commission today for more information on how YOU can become legal and protected on the high seas!
So with this logic, I could essentially claim banks as my own private assets, and annoy and slaughter you if you don't pay for the license I would give you to use said banks.
please tell me how you haven't changed the name to Vesper Mafia. Commerce commission is much too misleading.

The Vesper Commerce Commission is happy to report continued success in defending its assets at sea! Several lone wolves have reared their very ugly, very hairy heads and have since been very disposed of.

The abysmal seafaring skills of the Trinsic navy and its supposed pirates, Redrum, also made a series of brief appearances this past week.

The Vesper Commerce Commission would like to take this opportunity to remind folks that boarding actions are infectious and can lead to more boarding actions, particularly when you die with your rune on you. After recalling onto their deck to survey the situation with scouts (and after chasing their Tokuno the Citizen of Trin around the planet for an hour), Captain Van Raily and an agent of the Commission recalled onto the galleon and killed everyone, entirely disregarding the dragons on standby.

Please, sir, we're a legitimate business tasked with the important mission to protect the seas and its legal seafarers. The oceans are claimed as a private asset, owned and operated by the Vesper Commerce Commission, because it can be; unlike most banks that fall under the jurisdiction of local guards or perhaps are left rampant with bandits and thugs, the seas are thoroughly under the control of the Commission and its stalwart privateers.

It is so obvious to all fishermen who sail its waves that we have just signed on a new licensee, Captain Mongo, and his first mate, Joley!

Thank you, Yumaya, for your patronage and legally registering your ship with the Vesper Commerce Commission! (Sorry for not offering candies; it seems Mister Killik or Mrs. Van Raily might have gotten a sweet tooth!)

As for you, @n0v0, how's that for legitimacy? "Mafia"...

The Vesper Commerce Commission enthusiastically welcomes its two brand new licensees and their registered ships, and wishes them both great fortune and abundance on the high seas!

Meanwhile, others that have failed to properly get their ships brought into line have continued to learn the hard lesson that crime doesn't pay - illegal vessels will be taken and its cargo seized as contraband!

Coasts remain harassed by agents of the Commission seeking smugglers and so called "treasure hunters" that would otherwise hoard stolen booty and prizes.

The Commission would like to take this opportunity to update all seafarers on the current licensing costs: due to the overwhelming patronage of licensees, the privately owned and operated oceans are becoming crowded and its registered vessels must recoup the loss by the company through wrecking and seizing lagan globally. Therefore, effective immediately, costs have increased to 40,000 gold per week OR 120,000 per month (if paid in monthly lump sums). Current licensees who have not had their papers expire are grandfathered in as a mutual show of loyalty so long as their licenses are not revoked or expired in the future.

DON'T WAIT ANY LONGER - GET YOUR SHIP REGISTERED WITH THE VESPER COMMERCE COMMISSION TODAY!
PRIVATEERS AND OPERATORS ARE STANDING BY TO SERVE YOU!

Nice attempt to troll and Stand up for your boo, but I don't get upset at this game. That message came from me being attacked by your "crew" from outside of 2 separate houses within 10 minutes of each other. Times must be tough if the salty sea-nerds are putting their land boots on.

Considering you are trying to kill people inside their own house with no chance to loot them, you are just asshole PK's at that point.

Mad? Nah. I just don't like the rule bending and conflict of interest this shard has, but I still enjoy UOF very much.

Oh hey, just a couple of things:

You left out the part where I killed one of your boys 3v1 playing hopscotch on/off your boats.

Also cool video, I just hope that you have 4 active players on that boat. You might notice from the rules (http://www.uoforever.com/rules.php) that multi-client pvping is against the rules. Anyways, good luck with the water trollin' from a landlubber.

Thanks for going back for a screenshot in your archives from December 7th to remind us of that time you jumped on our ship, started to die, jumped on another ship, killed a fresh res who just started getting his stuff off his corpse before you were simultaneously killed then blind-looted. Boy, that was a great one! You're a regular Errol Flynn!

As for your question, here is something to dissuade your concerns. The Vesper Commerce Commission is always excited to hear from our keen eyed admirers and supporters. Thanks again for stopping by!

Ever vigilant in their promise to their loyal licensees, the Vesper Commerce Commission deploys its dedicated privateers to sea, ready for action and eager to snatch victory from those who would resist them!

Unfortunately, Mister Gilbert would not uphold his part of the bargain, being unprofessional and releasing his pet, breaking the trust of the Commission. Terrible business practice that, and a dire error in judgment.
iXt8uXd.png

After several attacks against Trinsic and its allies, their navy endeavored to achieve vengeance against the Commission by deploying a man-o-war, the Trinsic Main. Master Gunner Cheeto "Fingers" Mainsail offers his modest account of the action:

Brave hearts and braver deeds by the men and women of the Vesper Commerce Commission's executive authority! Bravo!

Later, an abandoned warehouse of goods on the Cape of Heroes was under siege by an alliance of land barons and scavengers. In an effort to lay claim to its goods, the Commission granted the use of the Wily Otter to seize what assets they could and engage hostiles as necessary.
rwGrye4.png

Spare ships were deployed as contingencies, with one of its runes confiscated by the troops ashore. In a tactical error, they attempted to commandeer the ship before the might of the Commission's brig.
vF1hK0U.png

SlX83xT.png

In the heat of battle, Captain Brandon Van Raily and Master Gunner Cheeto Mainsail sustained injuries, but were immediately back in the fight despite their wounds and in the face of rapid escalation by enemy forces on land. Unable to push any advantages gained from shore, the foe embarked on a large ship-of-the-line and maneuvered to engage the Otter.

Despite their losses the enemy maintained their dignity, a rarity, and the Commission remained impressed by their initiative. Seeing that the fight was beyond them, their numbers dwarfed by the opposition, the crew dispatched messages to betray the location to other poachers, leaving it to the vast wasteland gangs to descend upon it in brutal melee.

Yea, sorry for the delay my life doesn't revolve around making up cute lil' stories and posting screenshots to the forum. Next time I get a kill I will make sure to jump on the forums first thing and post my pic.

"Blind looted?" Do you mean dry looted? Well I would hope so, no on else is taking the gear that people drop on your boat. Wait, are you saying you don't dry loot people who die on your boat? That's just wasteful.

Still though, one x-heal would have saved your boy. Its okay, even eqms watches their crew fall down right in front of em too.

In other news, licensing has boomed as the Vesper Commerce Commission continues aggressively safeguarding its seas from buccaneers and illegal whalers! Mister Luciano reached out to Captain Van Raily for an audience concerning licensing at his office at Vesper Customs, who had offered to send the Commission's Registrar Mister Merrman of the S.S. Bluebottle. Being a man of repute, the leader of QOQ insisted to speak directly to the proprietor of the Commission, which the captain obliged, leaving the Otter deployed under the capable hands of Master Gunner Cheeto "Fingers" Mainsail.

Arriving at the Customs offices was surprising, something that rarely happened to the seasoned veteran: a feast with food and drink laid out for the Commission's leader and its registrar. Several members had already reached out to get licensed, and Mister Luciano dispatched his associate to formalize an agreement to safeguard his entire organization at sea.

With the immense increase in licensing, the Consulate of the Vesper Commerce Commission has authorized an increase in licensing costs moving forward: 50,000 gold per week or 150,000 gold per month. This increase will take place shortly, given the holidays and as a token of good will towards those still unlicensed, but will increase soon! The Commission is also excited about its Vesper Fishing Cooperative to be announced soon, so stay tuned for more information regarding how YOU can profit immensely at sea! As always, the Commission is grateful for the hospitality it has received from its loyal and legally operating licensees, and its stalwart privateers are ever at the ready to answer your requests for aid!

If you folks seriously think this guy can protect you, and you're going to pay him any coins at all, we have a bridge we'd like to sell ya'.. Let's see how many of your "Licenced Fishers" I can sink daily without getting caught by your 5 man dragon boat of parent's basement dwellers..
