Resistable Spells

Anyone know a reference / thread that has a list of all the resistable spells on the UOForever shard? I know UOGuide has a list but it doesn't seem to jive with what I've seen in game so I think there are differences. EG when I cast paralyze on myself, I don't get resist gains, even though UOGuide says Paralyze is a resistable spell!

Anyone have a list?

TIA

Don't use uoguide. That's for new UO.. Para is def not resistable spell, you can't resist it even on GM. Sometimes, you get odd chance to resist poison, but that's about all.. What resist does here is calculates chance to resist a spell and if you resist it, then it halves spell's damage, or at least that's how it was written somewhere.

Yea, this is usable.

Thanks. That definitely helps. But 1 thing I noticed which may sound a bit odd is Paralyze does actually give resist gains! I actually was just levelling magery on 1 character and resist on my 2nd account character with paralyze. It doesn't happen very often but I managed to get 10-12 skill ups in resist from paralyze.

Confirmed that Paralyze DOES give resist gains. It's standard in my list for gaining resist with all my characters. Namely, if you want to gain resist:

50-62; cast mana drain on yourself
62-75; cast paralyze or invisibility on yourself
75-GM; cast mana vampire on yourself

Either way resist seems to not only protect against status spells like paralyze, poison, and debuffs, but also gives you very noticeable damage resistance against ALL spells. Spellcasters will still wreck you no matter what but having 100 resist gives you a fighting chance

Oi, para does give you gains, I meant it as it's not resistible.. Only spell that can be fully resisted is poison (or at least I can't think of any other), and that's small chance.
