Can't Log In

I have not been able to log into the server for the last few hours. I keep getting the "Couldn't connect to Ultima Online. Please try again in a few minutes." pop up. This has been going on for a solid 2 hours now. I have tried both computers in my house with the same response. I don't seem to be having any issues with any part of my internet connection.

I hope this is due to high activity on the server. Well, I hope for the high activity atleast, but not so much that it causes login issues. Always hated the server being "full" on OSI.

No clue what caused it, but I was able to login tonight. I check this morning with no luck, but all is good now. Wish I knew what the cause was. Frustrated....

ARGH! Worked for 24 hours, now I am back to not being able to login. 2 separate computers (1 wired in, 1 wifi), 2 separate OS (Windows 7 and 8).
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

Its a firewall most likely. Its probably built into your router. The instructions that came with it should have instructions to disable it or make an exception for the server.

I thought of that. I removed the router from the system, and connected my desktop directly to the modem. Still no luck. I even tried to disable my desktop firewall with no luck. Its frustrating since it happened a few weeks ago for a couple of hours, then happened again Sunday night - Monday AM. Monday night/Tuesday morning it worked just fine. Tonight it is not working again. The only thing left to try is to connect to someone else's WiFi and see if that works.
I don't see how it can be an issue on my computers, since it hits both. It can't be the router, since I have removed it. It could be my DSL modem. I found out it also has a firewall in it. I just don't see why a firewall issue would cause intermittent outages. I might try to disable that and see what happens. I have a new modem showing up in a week, anyway.

I live near Hartford, CT. Never had any issues. Neighborhood has been here almost 20 years, although AT&T just added UVerse to my neighborhood, but that was months ago.

I tried to ping the login server directly from the modem GUI. It kept timing out. Seems like that is the issue, but no clue on why that is while all other internet functionality seems to work fine.

Also, couldn't find any place to turn off the firewall in the modem, without putting it in Bridged Mode. I stopped short of doing that because I don't remember the set up information to set up the PPPoE stuff on the router. My wife would kill me if I killed the internet...

I have the manual for the modem model, and I got into the modem GUI. The GUI did not have anyplace to turn off the firewall (atleast not where the manual said it should be).

It is still intermittent (worked this morning at 6:30 am; didn't work around 6:30 pm tonight; worked at 8:30 pm). I don't see how a firewall issue would cause intermittent issues.
