PROVO - ARCHER SOLO

This means you can run into a room, hide, pull bars, click provo [wait 10 secs], then provo your first mobs and since you waited 10 secs while in hiding, provo is already ready to go again and you can use it a 2nd time instantly. So....
This isn't true. Provoking reveals you on activation.

Ok true, haven't used my 'voker in a while, had that mixed up with stealing. Well either way you can still pull bars and brace yourself for mayhem while in hiding :D

I see three good ways to provo. All three involve being with the quickness. The first option, bar pulls while holding shift+ctrl. Second alternative is to provo activate, tap the target nearest grey hotkey, click on the second mob. Tricky when you don't click it or miss because they move squares. And the third is a variation of the second but what your doing is targeting the first mob(target nearest grey) than while running towards the second mob you press target key again.

There are only 1-2 enemies that can't be provo'd at 100 skill, I think Shadow Wyrms and maybe something else. Above that, there are also paragon versions of harder mobs like ice fiends, balrons, etc and they won't provo at 100, so mainly 100+ is for paragons only. Someone else can give a fuller/better answer

@ 100 provo - i can provoke almost everything. Shadow wyrms, Ancient Wyrms, Balrons, Shadow Balrons. The only thing I can no longer manipulate is a FleshRender. I used to be able to provo onto them, but can no longer do that. (this is with my current provo tamer)

My provo archer is 105. No magery. i don't fizzle.

Music 100
Provo 105
Archery 100
Tactics 100
Anat 100
Healing 100
Hiding 100

I have no problems with provo or wanna be PKs. True PKs will eat my face, but i know when to cut and run. Don't fizzle on book with charges. i should note: the provo archer bank rolled my smith Uthrom and my Tamer.

I have the same build, and if you're fast at Provo you will never need insta heals through Margery. The hiding compensates well for that... Not to mention, as soon as I see a red, I usually insta hide, wait for them to come near me, take my time to pull their bars, and Provo Mons on them... They usually run for it giving me time to recall, or if I don't have loot on me, I take out my bow and try to kill them.. With much success.

100 Anatomy
100 Archery
100 Magery
100 Meditation
100 Musicianship
100 Provocation
100 Tactics

90 str, 80 dex, 55 int

The only thing I miss is Hiding which my other provo character has. I could drop Meditation for Hiding but this character is pretty versatile. I sometimes cast Bless and then chug a Refresh if I know I'm in for a long battle with a paragon since swing speed here is not tiered and instead a gradual increase (so, every bit of dex helps, don't worry about hitting thresholds). Magery is useful for healing/curing, invis, gate, and energy vortex. Energy vortex is basically the only way you'll find it easy to take on solo, non-casting monsters.

I really can't figure out why people here are running Healing other than the fact that it takes up a skill slot. You should only take Healing if you don't have Magery and everyone knows a character without Magery is fail.

I travel with a GM bow, GM instrument and like 50 of every reg. Light.

My other char has magery, and yes while the EVs provide a good distraction, magery is really not needed to be a successful provo archer....again my opinion. It makes it easier, yes,....but how about travelling with

Gheals - 5
Cures - 5
Arrows
Bow
aids

I would use a provo archer if you just want to gold farm. And give him hiding. With hiding, not only can you hide from PKs but you can also hide right in the middle of a bunch of mobs as long as none of them target you first. This means you can run into a room, hide, pull bars, click provo [wait 10 secs], then provo your first mobs and since you waited 10 secs while in hiding, provo is already ready to go again and you can use it a 2nd time instantly. So...

All GM. You can keep 9 recalls in a runebook, or 10 if you have an exceptional-crafted runebook, and recall by clicking the blue gems on the first page. This works 100% of the time even with no magery. You can even run this build naked/with clothes, and with a newbie bow (start a new char with archery, you'll get a bow that won't drop on death), and the only thing you will ever lose on death is bandages and arrows.

I'm thinking strongly that this is the route to take! I'll miss the magery in this build. But the skills listed above and using them correctly should prove to be successful and profitable!

You guys that run with 80 heal anat, how does that work out with bandage heals?
Theyre fine.
I do 90 healing and 80 anatomy. I'd honestly have less anatomy but I need 80 to be able to res with aids. I do fine healing. I play my mace/provo a lot more so I can chug potions (via mouse wheel) super quick without having to unequip bow (reset swing timer). Potions combined with gheals and cure spells AND aids every 10 seconds, I do just fine.

Theres a few easy things I do when using my prover that no one has mentioned surprisingly.
Firstly I use a prov fencer not archer for high dps. I use a one handed weapon so I can cure pot if needed without it resetting my swing timer. My aim is to take mobs down as quick as possible so I can get out with my gold without a pesky pk coming along. You can even fight off solo pks most of the time with this build if needed.
Also I have a 1 button macro set up to use prov then target closest then nearest/next. I run near the most dangerous monster the hit this key to get it fighting another monster. It makes things so much easier. Most of the time I dont even pull bars, I just circle the mobs until they are all fighting each other then take them down with my kryss.
There are a couple of easy ways to pull bars. Firstly, make your screen size bigger and just stand outside the monsters field of vision while pulling the bars up then you can hit prov and run in and manually target the 2 monsters you want to prov. I always go for the 2 most dangerous. Secondly you can cast invisible then go to where the mobs are on screen and target yourself. This will hide you so you can pull bars in peace hence the reason for no hiding.
Also if you have good runes set up for your farming you can gate from your house. Use hiding in your house before you go through the gate and then you are hidden while in the dungeon with 0 hiding skill.
Thats all I can think of at the moment, hope its helped. :}
