Guide: Poisoning

Poisoning

Poisoning is a skill which lets you apply poison to a weapon or food. A poisoner just requires a bottle of poison and a weapon. If the poisoner fails he has a chance of getting poisoned himself! So have a way to cure.

It cannot be stated enough how SLOW this skill can be. The amount of Greater Poison you will chew through will be enough to make 3 GM Alchemists - and that is with Dungeon bonuses.

PvP/PvM - Poisoning will increase the poison spell potency which is the main item for the Nox Template.

Power Scrolls are not available for this skill; however, Skill Scrolls are available - but are very rare.

Training Method
Repeatedly poison the same weapon/item. Newbie Dagger or a piece of food work well.

0 - 50 Train at NPC Thief or use Lesser Poison
50.1 - 70 Use Normal Poison
70.1 - 100 Use Greater Poison

Just for clarification for others: I believe that the skill numbers listed above are NOT the show real numbers. My fake poisoning is at exactly 70 (real 63.9) and I have stopped gaining off of normal poison.

Cheers!

Skill abilities are ALWAYS based off of SHOWN skill instead of real skill.

is there any added benefit to having poison on a dexxer? was thinking of putting poison on my fencer and just wasnt sure if it was a waste and to just add it to a mage later on or something else.

Having poisoning increases your chance to inflict poison upon your opponent. By default everyone has 20% chance to inflict. If you have GM poisoning, that increases up to 40%.

Ahh. Okay great. Thank you. Thats what I have been trying to figure out and havent been able to come up with an answer. I didnt want to waste skill points on something if it didnt give that great of a bonus. But 40 percent isnt too shabby.

Does eval int effect the poison spell?
Was thinking of dropping inscription for poisoning on my fencer.

So GM magery and GM poisoning so I could cast poison as well as put it on my pointy end...

65.5 to 65.8 poisoning = 2 kegs of greater poison...

This is so hard to increase, no other skill took that much cost.

Are you doing that in a dungeon? I GM'ed Poisoning and it took forever but that seems a little....too bad.

I was doing it near water and food not in dungeon.

I don't usually bother with water and food but I wouldn't think of skilling up Poisoning anywhere BUT a dungeon. Food/water is supposedly effective but I highly doubt it's as good as the 50% gain dungeons give.

This is an awful skill to raise.

One keg of greater poison, in a dungeon with water and food.
Took 19 mins to go through
Raised me from 80.7 to 81 real.
