Young Dragon vs Drake

So a drake takes 83ish to tame almost 10 points more than a young dragon but the young dragons look stronger stat wise, but Drakes have a higher armor rating. So is it worth it to change to drakes once I can tame them or hold out till I can get a Dragon?

Since I plan on doing a mostly pvm tamer I'm thinking of dropping inscription and resist for archery and tactics and become an archery tamer.

would archery tamer work ?

If you plan on pvm with your tamer go for provo/music as archery would be slow with low dex.
seems a little weird build to me :)

Well I planned on doing like a 90 / 40 / 90 Or maybe drop Intel some more for a little boost to dex.

Not at all, imho.
First of all, for a dexxer is perfectly fine to go 90/40/95.
Then, i think a tamer archer is a nice build, probably the standard tamer bard is easier to manage when there are at least 2 mobs to provocate, but single target you'll be doing nice damage. You just have less tanking power than the tamer bard since you also have low mana to cast cures and heals, so keep attention to your pets health.
Med with just 40 int is maybe overrated, think about something else to put there too.

Be wary on positioning too, you need to be 1 tile from your pets to vet them, and at least 2 tiles from mobs to shoot them.

Regarding young vs drake i've always preferred young dragons, but the problem really isn't there since you'll switch to (meta)dragon+ww eventually.

Thanks everyone for their input. The more I read other forums the more I plan on tweaking the build. Other than Taming pretty much everything else trains really fast so I might tweak something here or there until I find what is right for me.

That's actually what I've moved towards, just have peace right now until I get GM taming. Then I switch peace with provo.
