Smiths put all the effort, time, and resources to get and fill the BoDs.
Carp/Fletching just needs to have the wood and a little luck.

I've been collecting BoDs since starting here and I feel as if the wooden weapon market has totally gone into over ride mode of metal weapons.

Example of Unbalance:
Ingot Weapons
  • Must have a selected set of BoDs to get selected hammers to give selected properties
    • Randomized BoDs given X amount of hours for the sales of random amount of items
    • BoDs come in 10, 15, 20 by type of ingot/color
    • BoDs come in normal or exceptional
    • BoDs come in Small or Large BoD form
    • BoDs come in 9 selected type/color
  • Must use selected hammer with selected ingot type/color
  • Ingot/Ore resources weigh more than Wood types
Wooden Weapons
  • Must use one of 7 different types of wood within crafting area
  • Wood resources weigh less than Ingot/Ore
  • Wood resources are much easier to gather (even with the snakes)
Anyways there's more but you see where this is going...

It's going nowhere. I've already tried. I'm about to sound like a negative nancy. And for that I'm sorry.

Crafting is in the shitter. Our biggest names have quit or aren't as active as they used to be. Runic hammers, the only truly leet item we had to offer, have had their prices plummet over the last few months. I went from restocking my vendors twice a day to once a day, to having to stop doing craftables on a few vendors all together. I had to make a tamer just to support my wearables habit!

I break crafting down into three types of salables. Deco, pvp, pvm. For the longest time, catering to the pvm market was the most profitable. With meta pets and the push on taming, slayer bows aren't as high in demand as they once were. Instruments still move, but we can't charge much for them. Everyone on this shard has a 120 tailor. So suits and cloth have little value. RSKs aren't in demand like they were a few months ago. CBDs have value but the pulls on that bod are rare. The rugs and tapestries are played out and no one wants them, the market has been flooded with the same shit for over two years. The new furniture is bad ass but no one wants it because anyone with disposable income is factioning and everyone else is saving for a goddamn meta pet/relics or dexxer relics.

This entire situation is pvm's fault. Everyone is holding gold to by relic shit. Until the prices come down and the items are more accessible to players, the crafting community will continue to struggle.

The risk is gone and I'm trying to put something back into it. You're on the button @Fattson on it all. I guess I have nothing better to do than be hopeful over bored.
Dude. Hope is what's keeping me crafting. Hope that we'll get some love from the devs. Maybe it'll happen. Maybe it won't. Why I'm trying to mix more pvp and pvm into my game. Just in case the bottom completely drops out.

Relics aren't anything special to me. Nothing I can't mimic in my mind or throw on a slayer suit on a parry dexer and knock out tough mobs. I'm old fashioned. Ultima was about bringing life to code and gaming. What started with a guy making it possible to make bread as a process is now what we have here. Relics use AoS abilities. Not worth my time to farm 5mil or so for hours so I can play AoS per relic.
I love this shard tho some of the BS I had to deal with. This became my home and where I go when I'm bored to hell.
At one time I was a huge pvp junkie even before this place. I've lost all interest and it's not because of zergs or people not knowing how to hold down a spawn.

I completely agree. Though I've never liked champ spawns. I have no problem "working" for my gold, I'd rather not play the lottery.

All the ideas I've been throwing out to this place are somewhat well thought out and have some sort of a presentation... ideas are what makes worlds change. This game is made for workin' and that's just what I'll do... I'm not staff and I apparently let my guild "rot", yet I'm still here tossing a line out. That hope.

With the crafters leaving or stopping that kinda throws a wrench into a lot of the process.

Part of the problem is that we're a free shard with a limited staff who are doing everything they can to keep an old game fresh and viable not only for vets but for the rookies too. It's not easy. And let's be honest, pvp and pvm are what's going to bring new guys in and keep seasoned vets around. I don't blame staff nor am I upset with them.

@eppy and @halygon are crafters. So it's not that our voices are not heard. We're simply not as loud because even united, we're still the minority by a very large margin.

I clearly see and understand the shortage and burden of love this place is for anyone really who logs in the server staff or player. Things have been too quiet for a bit in a lot of aspects. I'm just concerned and hopefully don't get in trouble for that concern again.

Staff doesn't mind suggestions. They encourage them. It's the whiney tears that they can't stand. Please see the pvp forum for proper examples.

All of this, unfortunately.

Legendary Crafting is in the shitter also. Time for a major revamp!

I have no problem helping with laying some ground work like I've been dishing out. I play here. Just as much as my baby as anyone else.
I have intentions of adding some screens of deco and doing some ingredient lists and shit in a large and detailed bitchpost...but it just hasn't happened yet.

One thing I know, if I get another recipe scroll I'm gonna snap.
