When a 'mil' meant a lot

I think the economy here is pretty good actually. If you go to the official servers stuff sells for 100 mill plus regularly. 30-50K for a town book etc. I still haven't had 1 million in my bank box yet, but with the power of provo, vendors, treasure maps and taming scrolls (well, only one so far) it is in my sights. I think if you really, really want to get 100 million you could. But not overnight of course, and if you have a tamer then you are well on the way. Good luck in your endeavours and don't forget there's more to the game than gold. Everything (almost) you can buy you can earn if you don't want to pay for it. GLHF :)

I'm not into to stockpiling a ton of gold, I like to just play mainly, but if you keep an eye out, IDOCs and placing houses are the most profitable ventures for starting out IMO. When I first started on UOF, I donated enough to get an ethy and then sold the rest at WBB for 185k per 1k. That gave me enough money to place a house. So I searched just outside lesser visited towns and managed to find an IDOC 7x7 plot with nothing on it just east of Cove. I checked on it a day later and it was gone and nobody placed, and I managed to place a 9x13 there. Then a couple weeks later I noticed a small house a screen away that was IDOC. That spot was big enough to fit a Villa which I sold for 450k, and then sold the 9x13 for 250k. I had enough gold to train several characters at that point.

My best find was an IDOC small marble right outside the east gate of Moonglow that nobody seemed to know about, which is now my home. :)
