Gold and Skill Gain

I'm a couple of weeks on UOF.

I played T2A occasionally a bunch of years ago.

Questions:

Why was skill gain made so ridiculously easy?

Why was PVMing for gold made so lucrative?

Results and Issues:

As i understand it this server has been around for a year, yet everyone one on it has at least two accounts and appears to have 5-6 7xGM chars, multiple houses etc.

It feels to me like the entire game is nerfed. Everyone has gm'd skills and tons of cash. Vendors everywhere because everyone has cranked up crafters.

I mean it is fun to be back and play, but the challenge and subsequently the reward in the game appears to have been flipped to easy mode.

Was it like this throught he beta..or done to attract more people..i just don't quite get it.

Easy mode is the point of the server, basically. So that we aren't left to grind just to get established here and can fully enjoy the game, yet still have plenty to work for.

I feel a pretty good balance has been struck here between having easy mode and still having a carrot.
