Some sort of house located bank deposit system for gold. Bank service fees / tax if needed?

I'm sure you know this, but you can secure a box at your feet in your house, put all your house gold in it, then gate macro to a "safe" bank, release the box and drag drop the box directly into your bank. Say deposit, and viola! Takes like 20 seconds.

I do see your point as some sort of gold sink though.

Yes, but you can dismiss it and go back to public anytime. I pile my gold up and when I'm ready to bank I set my vendor up. Then I take it down and go back to private.

This saved me about fifty eleven trips to the bank with a beetle. Much, much easier than schlepping it yourself.
