Would it be possible to have NPC mages with good AI in the sense that they play like players. They cast debuffs and counter spells with quicker casted spells, etc. or they might run up and punch you to interrupt and cast combo spells at you just like a player would?
Then after they kill you, they rummage through your corpse taking your reg bag and your gold raising the jackpot for the next brave warrior to try.
Might make for an interesting gameplay experience if the NPCs suddenly stopped being mindless drones for farming.
