Okay....he didn't sink me four times it was once, and I did death beetle pet ball him. I haven't been on as much lately that is true. It has nothing to do with the sea battles though. Hell I like the sea battles, I've been busy in RL it happens.

The seas grow quieter and safer as the Vesper Commerce Commission routinely and efficiently safeguards its private aquatic assets, both domestically and abroad!

Apparently, a previously known pirate had been searching the waters, seeking prey. Alerted by an attacked fisherman, the Otter deployed and caught the crimson sails on the horizon. Hungry for more, the pirate quickly moved to engage, having no idea what kind of painful introduction to the Vesper Commerce Commission he was in for.

During their patrols, island hopping resumed with several coastal raids and treasure hunting ambushes.

Unfortunately, mistaking sulfurous ash for cheese powder on his fingers, Mister Mainsail shot himself in the face - even in battle Trinsic relies on the hard work of the Commission to accomplish their goals.

Such jest! It's only a joke when Redrum cannot protect their licensees! Eh? Eh?? Oh, who're we kidding: they don't have any.

A wizard had escaped pursuit near the Britanny Isles. In an effort to test if the coast was clear, he set off his ship unmanned. Recognizing the ship, the Otter cornered the vessel and waited; sure enough, he recalled aboard thinking it was safe to continue on his journey. He was wrong.

South of Skara Brae a new crew calling themselves Guts-n-Glory set out to engage in a small cutter. The dragons were fierce and laid low Mister Mainsail, but superior seamanship and gunnery saw the enemy weakened and wounded, to be easily finished. They ran for the docks, but died afire just shy of salvation.

Great doing business with you, Elohim of Trinsic! We look forward to our future negotiations!

In a rare moment for Captain Merrman, he requested assistance off of the coast of Nujel'm. He had become lax in his safety at sea, having actually misplaced his emergency rune to his ship, not being sunk in weeks since registering with the Vesper Commerce Commission! Privateers were dispatched to aid him. Fair winds and following seas to you, Captain Merrman!

It's a difficult job, but the hard work pays off: sailors all across Sosaria appreciate the diligence of the Commission and its brave privateers, making the otherwise thankless task worthwhile!

The week draws to an end with an eventful and successful enforcement of ship licensure by the Vesper Commerce Commission!

Captain Merrman of the S.S. Bluebottle had given the Commission warning of an illegal ship operating off of the coast of Verity Isle, and so Captain Van Raily of the Wily Otter offered the capable licensee the opportunity to sail aboard a privateer to see it in action. He excitedly accepted, and they set off after the scoundrels. However, the ship was a nimble cutter, and forced Van Raily to deploy the Ole Gregg II to pursue.

The ship aflame, Brandon Van Raily grappled aboard and took the skipper to the sword!

Afterwards they attacked a merchant ship laden with cargo, including a full suit of invulnerable leather double slayer armor!

Yes it sure is, Captain Merrman! Island-hopping and treasure horde acquisitions lead to significant finds and ransom opportunities!

Despite the on-again, off-again combat between Harsh and friends and the Commission's contractors, a plea was made to Captain Van Raily over the weekend.

As a show of thanks, he gave the Commission 50,000 gold in appreciation.

However, business is business, and patrols must continue! In this case, as a courtesy, the Commission refrains from taking the pets as a prize due to the generosity shown in the previous rescue.

SEAFARING SUNDAY FUNDAY CHEETO HAS A MANBUNDAY!
The Vesper Commerce Commission kept the oceans safe and clear from pirates, illegal whalers and other law breaking assholes unregistered seamen today in fantastic fashion! It began when a patrol passed an inner city island in the ghetto of the ocean Avalon a "mist-shrouded isle" that held common wizard bandits and fascists.
After trading fire with the inhabitants, a valiant if foolish effort is made to board the ship by an axer with cover from a vortex. It fails.

Running back to the ship with loot, a tamer tried to use his horse to win the fight for him. Master Gunner Cheeto "Fingers" Mainsail had a particular mount of his own to protect Captain Brandon Van Raily!

POW! Right in the kisser! It then chased off the knights, rampaging energy llama, kicking and bucking, that it was.

Another boarding action was then attempted as the Wily Otter fired rapidly at the charging foes.

Satisfied with their actions, there were rumors that Trinsic would send sailors out to take advantage of wrecks and engage in fights on Sunday. The Commission was not about to allow this to occur. Sightings of a whirlpool caught their attention, sending the crew to investigate the troubled waters. There they found Sal the Fisher, a pirate, and engaged him swiftly.

Bowsprits locked, the ships traded fire, each taking a casualty under the brutal broadsides.

The pirate disengaged and fled south, the Otter maintaining its close proximity in pursuit. It would be a constant tug of war of gaining the weather gauge and holding it, and a speedier craft was required to intercept their prey. Again deploying the Ole Gregg II, Captain Van Raily left command to Mister Mainsail and swept in to corral their opponent.

Mister Mainsail warned the captain as he went over the gunwale and Van Raily took caution in engaging the gunship with his small cutter, knowing all too well how fragile they are against the terrible broadsides of such a ship. With the guns damaged, though, the pirate was not able to deal significant damage to the Ole Gregg II, and Van Raily successfully outmaneuvered their foe, pinching the corsair between their ships with deft aid from Mister Mainsail.

True to their word, the Vesper Commerce Commission seeks safety and stability for all who legally sail its waters. No forgiveness for pirates and predators who act against the Commission and its licensees!

No sight of Trinsic's superior naval presence, the Commission sent its contractors to Booty Isle, exploring islands along the way. Within the cove between New Magincia and the isle itself, however, a Trinsican was found shooting an ogre lord from offshore. He tried to recall away without success.

Uncertain if this was Trinsic's mighty sailing force and not wanting to further discourage them, the crew offered encouragement despite the fact.

It grew quiet, then, and all seemed lost that there would be further action at sea. Already carrying a sizable bounty from their ventures, the captain was determined to look for pockets of illegal whalers. Off the coast of Verity Isle lay the S.S. Bluebottle, as it had for some time, safely anchored on some distant shoals. Having seen nothing else, the crew decided to check on the condition of the ship as they had done the night before.

That's when they realized the ship flew the colors of Trinsic, and the Bluebottle, though safely empty and abandoned, was sinking! Without hesitation, the Wily Otter took the weather gauge and swept in with extreme prejudice, proving that any action against a licensee is met with severe and humiliating punishment.

Six minutes after attacking their licensee's ship, the Trinsic vessel was sunk, its crew slaughtered and their cargo hauled aboard. For the Commission, it was all in a day's work, and their day was not over yet! An illegal whaler off of Serpent's Hold found themselves laid out and sought to quickly abandon ship, to no avail.

Bags, satchels, pouches and chests of reagents, potions, gold, grappling hooks, potions, weapons, armor, potions, ammunition, powder and shot, and still more potions covered their hold and weather deck.

With that, the Commission recalled their privateers for the weekend, duly rewarded and successful in their patrolling endeavors, having reminded those who had the audacious and vacuous notion of standing against them of their place. The seas are once again safe for legal sailors, the Vesper Commerce Commission eagerly waiting to meet and license those who would take the great bounties of the sea under the protection of its brave privateers! Get your ship licensed NOW!

25k is pure evil capitalism. How can a poor fisherman pay that much if he is not catching enough to feed his own family?
VCC is an evil fascistic organisation like Monsanto. May the Arch Demon take their souls.

It's like real world. The mindless evil people will rape and kill the poor and weak.

The Vesper Commerce Commission recommends using any number of the rich streams and rivers that flow through the Windemere Woods north of Vesper or perhaps along Lost Hope Bay in Minoc for fish. This license is for seafaring vessels that often engage in whaling, wrecking and lost acquisitions at sea. The Commission, operating now as Vesper Customs, is tasked with ensuring legal use of ships on an asset thoroughly and completely belonging to the private company.

On that note, the Commission would love to welcome its newest licensee, Ickapatick Roxor and his mate, Gardan Fisker, aboard their ship, the Twinkles! After direct business transactions south of Skara Brae and remembering the proclamation to get licensed they heard abroad, the crew of the Twinkles reached out to Brandon Van Raily to get legal and protected!

Wasting all their cannonballs sinking vessels belonging to honest hard working fishermen,

Take Captain Merrman of the Bluebottle for instance, sunk directly once the Trinsic navy hit the waters this weekend last, and again rammed hard to port mid fish today, spells-a-flying. For the better part of 3 weeks that blue-hat wearing salt-of-the-sea had kept my finely(and costly) crafted vessel afloat without a scratch, under the watchful protection of the VCC, only to be targeted and sunk by those purporting to come to see to fighting off aggressors.

Our navy took a hit right before Mr. Van Raily's return as we were focusing on beefing up our land patrols and some of our more reputable pirates had some RL issues taking place. However, Trin isn't doing the sea thing 24/7. We do other things as well, unlike VCC that eats, sleeps, drinks this life 24/7. We have jobs, lives, families.

The good news is, it's motivated some members to learn how to take to the seas and we're trying to train them up. VCC has been nice enough to provide some skirmishes to help our forces train, see what works, what doesn't work and why.

So @Easy Cheese and whomever else would like to join us and have some fun at sea, albeit maybe a tiny bit less serious and more fun, than give me a shout.

Here are some of those efforts of our guard and a sea battle with some new to sea life: http://www.uoforum.com/threads/red-vs-blue-pking-boat-pvp-orc-fort-siege.89774/#post-681361

I've never seen your ships while I've been fishing in the bountiful ocean.

I also reject your claim on ownership. You have no grounds. You were not first to discover it. You did not buy it. It is public domain. You only seek to terrorize and extort that which is not yours.

I will continue enjoying its bounty.
