Seller agreed to lower the price to 2m (like I asked) and to put it on his vendor for me to buy.
This was his description of the vendor:
"I have a vendor at the vesper mall next to the log cabin i can put it on and the vendor will be labeled fancy shirt . The vendor has neon green clothes . I will put on tommorow morning so you can grab it if you want . I'll put it on 830 here"
As soon as I got home i went to said vendor and bought the fancy shirt for 2m.
Now I will say this myself: it was entirely my fault for not hue checking the item and just buying it. I play on sallos, didn't even have steam installed (for hue inspector) and honestly I trusted Salt Life (we played in the same guild and forum scamming is supposedly bannable lololololol) so i just went ahead, bought it and put it in a chest with the rest of my PW stuff
Fast forward 1 month, I find a buyer for the fancy shirt (I still thought it was PW lol) and the buyer ( @yakup ) uses hue inspector in the trade window and tells me it's 1150 and not 1153. I apologized and thanked him for letting me know.
I immediately PMd @Salt Life explaining what happened and even telling him that maybe he didn't even scam me on purpose and just asked for my gold back. He read the message (status was online and checking my profile) but didn't answer me until i threatened to expose him on the forums 48h later. After my 2nd pm this was his answer:
DEAR SIR OR MADDAM,
Not only was that facny shirt hue 1153 (100%) ..I left it on a vendor for someone to buy. Your telling my it was you well i dont know that we never actually traded items in person. Im not going to be scammed out of 2 mill . That vendor was in a vendor mall that was gated to daily so im not even sure if you bought my shirt. Stop messaging me, threatning me and grow up. If you made the mistake of buying a shirt that to be honest doesnt look anyhting like ice white unless your blind, that sucks but still not my fault. There were 4 ppl alone interested in that shirt and a gater at wbb gating to it . So you cant even be sure if mine was the one you bought. Again im not paying for that simply because i know the one on my VENDOR was PW. Have A Great Day!
Like are you fucking serious? I know this forum is a joke and i was never expecting to get gold back and no one ever got banned for forum scamming (although it happened quite a few times and it's supposedly a bannable offence...again, LOL) but pretending i went to the wrong vendor and bought another fancy shirt? hahaha
At least be honest about being a lying piece of shit of a scammer.
As for me, i act like a son of a ***** on forums but even my worse "forum enemies" can testify about how serious i am with trades. I sold and bought hundreds of millions worth of stuff on this forum and never ever had a single complaint. TL;DR: i'm not making this up just for the fun of it.
I know i'm never gonna get the gold back (and after 1 month i don't even care) but I imagine a newer player might get pretty upset and even quit after losing 2m to a fucking scammer.
