So what exactly does the fishing trawler do? I've not noticed any difference in the amount of fish I harvest, the type of fish, the rate of Sea Monsters or anything. Does this actually work, and if so, how does it work?

Also, how do you level your ship? Is it only combat related? I've fished a ton and have no experience on my fishing boat.

To be honest, I'm not sure if any of the upgrades work. I've got improved cannons and exp boost and I've noticed no difference in cannon damage.

Hmm well I thought the small ship was faster than the large ships. So I bought one of each and had a race with 2 chars.... no difference.

I then upgraded the small ship with superb sails...... again i raced the large and small ship.

No difference.

Unless I am missing something?

I don't know either, but my guess is that the upgrades are not what you are expecting. Upgraded sails.. maybe the sails are stronger, will take more damage? As I understand, the trawler upgrade is only in effect when fishing a whirlpool. I just can't figure out what the crows nest is for? In real life it would be to see farther, but we know thats not happening here. Maybe its just a small second floor?

Well i think you are right about the sail upgrade. although 'superb sails' sounds like it should be for more speed lol

As it stands, upgraded sails and crows nest do nothing. Sails do not add to sail armor.

The crowd nest increasing your ship vision stat in the gump, but I can't tell the difference in game on screen or on alt+R radar.

Cannons, munitions and chai shot work fine and their bonuses are easily seen in the stat gump after you add them.

crows nest is only for " scan the horizons" im pretty sure it works not 100% that it stacks with tracking bonus thou. The sails add on stoped working when adam fixed the speedhacking bug now when say full sail ahead it actully goes slower than forward.

Shouldnt chainshot be grapeshot? Chain shot is traditional used to shoot sails and rigging to slow/incapacitate boats. Grapeshot was used for clearing decks. I am Horatio Hornblower 2.0

Traditionally though, chainshot was also used for clearing large groups of people. In early cannon days, they would use chainshot in huge cannons to sweep through the hoards coming at them. Since cannon balls bounce on the ground a few times before they stop, the chain and two balls would also bounce while cutting people in half.
