Elemental Invasion Mobs

I feel like there should be more balance on what can do well at these events. The top 20 in score are almost exclusively beserker metadexxers with one tamer and one mage. I feel like the mobs so far have been too easy for dexxers to just mow over the mobs with little effort. Maybe tweak the concentration of mobs that are bad for dexxers a bit higher or provide mobs with unique abilities to at least somewhat hinder dexxers. Right now, there are very few 'bad for dexxer' mobs and it is very easy for them to be avoided. Possibly more higher HP mobs so that tread doesn't instantly kill. Something like tentacles or boulder throwers from Vesper were decent at making dexxers play more carefully. I think tamers with 2 maxxed out meta pets should not be getting score so much slower.

Tamers should farm gold and meta humans for events domination!

I think it's perfect just the way it is. Thanks to the staff for planning and hosting such a great event for the server population.

It is not too easy on a dexer out there. I have slayer armor on and even then I have to keep on my toes constantly to stay alive. Hell half the rescue missions we've had to go on were to help a dexer. Tamers keep getting screwed by the re-spawns though when all of a sudden 20 mobs spawn all around them. From what I have read from Shane, that won't happen with the new system and they will spawn more gradually.

My biggest issue as a tamer isn't the respawns, those I can handle. It's when certain players at these events see my dragons as free meat shields. They'll come with their slayer weapons and 2-hit whatever mobs my dragons are fighting, or pull with them 5+ monsters and just run staight through my drags, leaving me to deal with their mess.

I'm not a meta tamer and maybe it's easier for them, but I've lost my dragon several times to these kind of trains by people that see me as an easy way out of a messy situation.

Dealing with dexxer jerks is just part of the tamer role. Not much we can mitigate there as its just a general game mechanic, not event based..

I tried playing again last night. The spawn was very light and consistent like how the patch notes said. then, out of no where, about 40-50 fire ele's spawn at once and killed pretty much every player in serps hold. both pets were 8x boxed and i died pretty much instantly.

The invasion system is awesome and working tons better, but def needs a bit more tweaking. Perhaps that's what the GM's were doing during the event. who knows? @Shane

Yeah that influx was staff tweaking the respawn rate. Before that it was like a 3 on a scale of 10. A few of us on IRC asked them to dial it up a smidgen and they cranked it up to an 11. It didn't all spawn at once, you could see them popping up one at a time very rapidly. I got lucky as hell surviving as I ran like mad for the edge of town.

Since then it has been spawning at a pretty reasonable rate. As long as people are active and dispatching mobs quickly the spawn doesn't get out of control. In patches less traveled it builds up and makes for a good challenge to clear it out.

Granted, I generally participate in these events for the gold and other items of value, not necessarily the points, but I can tell you on a pretty regular basis, I have tamers with their metas use my provo'ed mobs as easy pickin's for points. The meta-dexxers pull this crap too. I generally haven't felt too bad if I occasionally pull a couple extra mobs onto the them. I mean, they are farming for points, right? I see it as I am just helping them find critters to kill.
