Meta type pet for non tamers?

Streets

Grandmaster
I don't know if it's a good idea but figured I would throw it out there to see if anyone likes the concept.

How about a meta for non tamers. Not an animal though but humanoid. Something that can be bonded not super tough that's for the tamers. Not to hard to kill so not to throw off pvp. I can't be the only person that would like a lacky, servant, squire, guard, henchman? Something with a little worth but nothing that would take away from taming.

Not everyone has the patience or time to build a tamers but there are people that would like to partake in some of the aspects?

Any input?

Which one for an Archer?
Which one for a bard?
Which one for a crafter?
Which one for a healer?

While anyone can use talisman not all have the synergy with the skill as tamers have or minie game of owing a pet.

I will have fun with a Beatle or a swampy but the meta game if leveling is not there and not everyone wants an animal as a companion.

Which one for an Archer?
Totem of the Berserker or Shadow Of The Rogue
Which one for a bard?
The talisman cannot be equipped by any character with greater than 50 musicianship or greater than 50 taming
Which one for a crafter?
None
Which one for a healer?
None really - Maybe: Shadow Of The Rogue for The wearer gains the ability to run while stealth to a distance of 5 * Level tiles (i.e. 50 tiles at Level 10) or Phylactery of Resilience

You may not know this but you can go to most non-shop owning NPCs and hire them as mercenaries for you-- its kind of a pet as you command them the same way. They are not bondable and for the most are are fairly weak but do add extra help for newer players (or pvpers who like to have an extra spell interrupter).

Thank you (again) this is what I am talking about! A humanoid hireling. I was not asking for relics or a crazy pet. What I was suggesting was a hireling you could rez like a pet is all (kinda like bonding?) Something you could actually level (mini game) not to make insanely tough just some casual fun. Tamers have the raise pets, people raise plants just looking along the lines of a fun way to play with hireling that are human (even if a npc.)

I do plan on having fun with hireling I know original up shards had rangers that where pretty good for what they where. And there are RP ideas though for 3 control slots or so a henchman would be fun to Adventure with. If they die rez them like a player I just know players would trap them and such. To each their own I guess.

Was just a suggestion was all.

I would like to make a crafter meta pet but I have no good ideas for what the point of it would be. I will not add ore smelting to a pet.

Eppy I need help! So I hired a no hireling for this. *So far so good.
I decided to try the bonding deed to have the minion permeant
*So far so good (it bonded)
Well since he's bonded to me I want to summon my henchman so I linked him to a pet ball
*So far so good he's linked
I wanna make sure he's able to be rezed so I take him out if town and kill him he's a ghost!!
*So far so good
I rez him woohoo!!
*So far so good

Oh my God he's naked!!!
*Things get bad
Ok I'll just make him "drop his items"
*So far so good he dropped it all
NOOOOOOOooo... I can't equip his paper doll! Ok I got a naked paladin following me I'll figure out what to do here...

I go to the stables.
*NOOOOoooooooo.. the stable master laughs says he's not an inn.

So eppy what can I do? I want my own henchman, but I'm affraid he will go wild and I'll loose the ability to use the other ball, I don't want to loose the bonding deed I spent dono coins on. If there is a way to keep him without going wild I want him but how do I get his armor back on him? Can he be made to rez with gear in? what are my options?

Ok a follow up. The hireling ended up quitting on me while at the wbb so I know he went wiled/ran out of funds and was not killed. It's unfortunate and a very expensive loss as well as this cost real world money.

To expand on my original idea as my wording was off I am not looking for a meta pet, I wanted to suggest a permanent type humanoid hireling. A hireling you could maybe pay a ton up front (gold sink vendor) that can be bonded and balled. This pet would take 1-4 (determined by developers) could be rezed and never quit on you.

To expand on eppys idea above above a meta for Crafters maybe these hireling could hold things for you, be a form of vendor (possibly for bods?) Combat friendly or combat friendly (maybe Slayer hireling that do extra damage to say or elementals?)

This is not a true meta pet but more of a hireling 2.0 or a cross between a hireling and a tamed pet? Instead of equipping relics allow them to be equiped with player items or special items on the gold sink vendor (this would also allow devs to watch for balance issues.)

There could be hireling for Crafters, adventures, healer hireling, mage hireling, Archer, maybe even a walking vendor you could park and sell your wares?

The ideas are limitless, add a ton of role play value, actually could be useful in and out of combat some ideas (again just ideas)

Healer hireling:
Can attempt to heal/cure/rez you
Park him in a house or Adventure with him

Mage:
Will cast gate for you once every xxxx minutes

Warrior or guard
Pretty self explanatory
Would love this in a player run town

Some brain storing just on crafter meta these are just ideas to get the ball rolling:

Holding: allow the meta to carry a ton of resources. Nothing else. This would allow miners/Smith's to hold or/ingot without multiple animals.

Sixth sense: give a visual or audio clew when someone is hidden near bye. Not as good as a reveal but not to take to much away from this. Great for crafting area thieves.

Transmutation: allow a vendor to take a raw material and turn it into one tier better off the same material at a reduction. So say you feed the meta 100 iron ore/bars you may get 30 of the next tier ore/bars. The quantity can increase with relic level. There would have to be some loss no matter what or people would keep transmuting 100 logs into 100 frostwood.

The Slayer: make 1 relic for each super Slayer. The player has a choice then which to equip for his meta to do extra damage to.

Also make it so you feed bods to level crafter meta.

Maybe use trophies for another meta (maybe hireling :) )as we seem to have a ton of both

Maybe a 2 relic hireling. Or even one. Right now tamer can have 2 metas correct one being a mount correct?

Or no relics just let players equip the hireling, of course if it's killed it would loose it's items.

Figured I would add more to this idea. What about a gold sink idea, add special bandages bought from the gold sink vendor to rez a permanent hireling?

Or a ball that has charges that summons a random hireling you can recharge with a gold sink item.

We have something coming in for crafters, but the talisman is more so the meta pet for dexxers/mages.

Any chance for something that is not meta then? I want a hireling that can bond with me or a way to summon another one without having to look for one and hire them it's time consuming.
