So this is what UO became?

Oh look another purple pot rant thread. I'm sure this one will be much different than its 400 parent threads. Thing is there are nothing wrong with explo pots and it's always the same newer players/players unwilling to figure them out that will kick and scream for changes on something that's not a problem.

I play a few different alchemy characters. Trouble is its such a big part of PVP people run away once they run out 1v1. Just fought a guy that had over 30 and once he was out he just took off. Its kinda sad that every completive template requires pot throwing. I'd rather see alchemy give a defensive bonus then offensive... might make for more fun? Probably have to redo all damages for balance tho.

Whenever one of these threads pops up, someone should post the video of the 15-minute fight between JG and me in an enclosed area with the hardest-hitting weapons in the game and explosion potions flying nonstop.

I for one do not like how purple pots are here. I do agree they should be viable and used but they need some kinda cool down like healing pots and throwing them shouldn't be a easily scripted process either. More variation in time between when you click it and it blows up would help that. Non stop scripted heat seeking purple pots is lame af. Thats my 2 cents.... Take it or leave it :D

Here is the problem is you made purple pots pretty much a must have to PvP. If it was any other skill it would have been delt with.

If you had to have a tamer to PvP it would have been fixed

If you had to have super magic weapons it would haven't felt with

If it was a specific weapon skill it would have been adjusted.

But for some reason it won't even be addressed here. There is supposed to be diversity here and yet everyone is funneled into the same cookie cutter builds.

I am not saying purple pots are the sole reason for the state of PvP but it keeps being brought up it's far from a coincidence. But it will be ignored and people will continue to leave to the next best server so meh whatever.

the core problem with explo pots is

they just a tool for the good players to get a even bigger edge over the bad ones.

The core problem is it only take takes 100 skill points to be better off than a template that needs 400 or more.

ppl who die to alchy explo pots would also die to non alchy explo pots
And everyone else will only die to 3+ people. Once again, the fight between JG and me lasted 15 minutes using the strongest weapons in the game and these "super OP" explosion potions. How do you explain that if they're so overpowered?

do the fight vs any avg play and it will not last longer than 10sec

Again your talking about melee my problem is archery where I am prohibited for anything alchemy related. I can't cure, heal, Stam, anything without disarming. So no we do have situations where people die to purple pots but not other combat skills

Here is the thing and you can see it people that use purple pots as a crutch will kick and scream rather than admit it's over powered but if it was another skill like archery that was doing what pots could do it would be delt with swiftly.
