change the default text color for everyone

that mustard yellow is very hard to read. its too dark and blends with the pixels. change it to something liek bright green. so we can talk to each other without always having to request that the other player change their text color for the sake of communications. ><

I believe this is a client default rather than something the server can choose, unfortunately. There is a way to patch your client graphics so your journal has a dark background, on which the yellow font shows up better. It's a bit of a hard change to implement but you feel snazzy after you do it. [Please remove this post if it is against the rules. ]

Sallos has a different default color than the one you end up with using Razor and/or Steam so it's gotta be doable. This obviously isn't some drastic server stability issue that needs immediate attention, but if there is a way to do it easy, it would be nice. The yellow is awful.

Yep, as I said, because Sallos and Orion are different UO clients (the program which runs on your computer), they can use different defaults for their speech. The server (UOF) has nothing to do with it.

Here's another solution: if you run UOSteam there's an option on the Filters page to filter other people's speech color (it's toward the bottom if I recall).

i would imagine though that regardless of which client, the server could send out a patch to everyone altering each persons client to a default setting.

journals are only moderately helpufl as you cannot switch between a chat journal and other types of journals. like you can in other games. scrolling through a bunch of "You see" so that you can then spot what someone said to you, especially if your in brit or something is impossible.
thanks for the tip though, that does help a bit.

Journals are helpful for a variaty of reasons - like if you're trying to capture the World Creator cheating everybody:
