How is it MOST of these pks can hit EVERY SINGLE FUC%ING time with purple potions? No exaggeration! I cut corners, i duck and weave, i try just about everything and at 25 dmg a pop it pretty fuckin hard to survive for a non seasoned non hardcore pvper! PLEASE for the love of god give us something to defend against this BULLSHIT. I try to get into PvP whenever i get attacked solo but every god damn pk uses purple pots! So almost every time i end up having to turn tail and run and hope i can escape HEAT SEEKING GOD DAMN pots!!! Its such a lame part of PvP here in my opinion! Jesus! ya may as well make every dexxer swing hit and all spells have unlimited range while yur at it ffs.

(end rant)
Thank you have a nice day!

Hotkeys and scripts to throw on that 1 tick timer.

It does seem if you want to stand a chance at survival you either need to be able to mitigate the damage or throw them right back and hope you kill them first.

Just last night a thief at the bank turned grey to me, was on my "in progress" dexxer so thought why not, let's give it a go. Chased him down getting some good hits with my doubke axe...almost got them down and was able to Bandi the occasional spell they'd fling. But then the pots came out...trying to outheal a guaranteed 25hp every 3-4 secs is pretty hard. Needless to day i died lol can't seem to dodge at all, going around corners, zig zagging, gong back on myself...nope. hit every single time.

Oh well...c'est la vie

There have been many threads giving advice on how to survive pk attempts. I'm sure you've seen them.

Here's a short list:
1) Carry potions and use them
2) Ensure you use bandages if you have healing ability
3) Wear armor
4) Recall between hits
5) Learn to run in a dungeon / how to time breaking los
6) Run pots into the thrower or npcs to fizzle them and/or share damage

So have you tried all the suggestions and still die, or have you not tried all the suggestions?

DrSaso, you're not much of a pvper eh? It's incredibly hard to kill a decent player without using purple potions. Noob dexxers may use scripts to time purple pots, but I don't know of any half-way decent alchy mages that do. Do you? By name? If not, get back in your cage.

I am absolute trash at pvp and don't deny it haha

Tried a few of those, normally on my other toon i just run and hide but this dexxer I'd like to get a bit more involved, but like i said... work in progress so skills aren't there, armor is picked up bone, pots....lol i will in time.

That's a good shout about running the pots back at the caster, didn't think of that! May have actually won if i had done that as pot exp and if i didn't swing n miss would have been close to 50 hp gone from them. :D

I do all but number 4 most of the time on my zerker/LJ Chop Jr. Always have pots(no p-pots usually), always bandaging, i got the bloodied plate set for armor, i roll with a good axe and dp gm katana's, I got hotkeys, I maneuver pretty well. But damn I cant seem to get out of los of some of these guys tho. Like i said heat seeking pots. Id have to say i survive about 95% of the time but with tail between legs when i cant take the purple heat anymore. But i die if i try to keep the fight going to long. I have tried using p-pots as well but i totally suck. I dont pvp enough to practice and i dont want to pvp that much in the first damn place lol.

Im mostly a PvM player these days that enjoys some defensive PvP when it comes along 1v1 while out hunting. I dont like to recall out on a 1v1. Most time i give up and end up getting off screen and hide and they run by because there is only so long i can hold against heat seeking potions.. But a lot are pretty smart to that to and find ya hiding with a well placed p-pot. Then its fight a little bit and run for your life again. lol.

I just think there needs to be some kind of better defense against p-pots. Like give them a ++% chance to randomly blow up in the throwers face or some shit. Or if your wearing a shield let it mitigate some of the potion explosion damage or shit give it a ++% chance to reflect the potion back at the thrower. Better yet make them require alchemy to even use! I mean shit p-pots are like a free OP skill.

I get it, the PVE aspect is what drives you, not the PVP part of UO. One thing I have found in UO after many years is that the two are so intertwined that when you try (or even the GMs try) to make them separate, it never works out well. It's like that old adage, a strong offense is a strong defence - same is true in UO. Even if you mostly PVE, having skills in your PVP game will make your PVE game more enjoyable.

Id like to think i have a little skill in PvP. Been playing since September of 1997 PvP/PvM. Id be PvPing a hellova a lot more here if P-pots and sallos werent pretty much a requirement to compete. I dont find either of them appealing and i am pretty sure a good % of the pop on this server would rather recall than PvP because of those two reasons as well. I mean i thought you PvPr's want more action and more people to to participate. At least ive heard a lot of ya's complain about it.

Anyway it was good to vent. Got my opinion out, not that it really matters but hey sometimes ya gotta speak yur mind :)

People been complaining about this on few different shards other than this one for 5 to 10 years.Just read the advice other people above me posted you'll be fine.Other than that i really with they would opt out on the ezplo pots completely and implement instant would would make tanks slot more viable, hasn't been a shard in years that has had it and it was around the beginning of uo and most of t2a.Would boost the dueling seen slot also. Not to mention get every1 away from pure mele/alcy templates.

If you don't have pots, you need stam loss.
It's one or the other honestly. You can't have it so people can just run away when they are low on HP with absolutely no way of combating that. You need pots, stun or stam drain. Stam drain i think would be incredibly boring in the end and would effect everyone where as pots/stun effect pvpers, pkers, and those getting pk'd.

These are my thoughts ultimately, and i can say the auto targeting for pots is a downside as it isn't exactly fair. You should to manually load up your pot macro and as it times down manually target to throw it at the right time. With some scripts out there today, it auto throws them. I know some way to combat/fix this and it might be something we will look into.

Thank you for your input for sure. What people don't understand fully is something like this instantly separates those who want to get into pvp from those who know everything about pvp.

Change the alchemy pot damage bonus to a defensive heal pot bonus like it was originally (OSI) and make explosion pots sticky like they originally were (OSI). That way explosion pots won't be an elitist / connection or script based thing.

Just no.

If an Australian on razor with 300 ping with the use of a VPN that has to resync his buggy af razor client every 2 screens can throw explode pots on both a dexer and a mage manually then ANYBODY CAN FUCKING DO IT.

It's funny that people can't translate their basic skillset of playing UO in a span of 20 years.

I absolutely admire all the attributes given to new players on old age era where everybody sucked and the only way to boost their morale was not to be killed fast because they can't compete nor have brain cells to learn a simple mechanic to eliminate a possibility of dying.

UO is one of few games i know that still has players with the mentality of player not able to adapt over the years neither of the new games or games from 2010 onwards are suitable for these kind of players because of the handicap of not being able to learn. The problem about threads like these are that the lack of understanding someone can be better, the stubbornness of players thinking no one should be able to beat them even if they played this game more often or cared to learn the aspects of beating people. But that's just blunt since you never think about your cognitive thinking if you are already incapable of understanding your grounds on here.

This just proves my point and shows a perfect example of a veteran player incapable of adapting and being hypocritical about changes*
