Trying to build a Bard Tamer

Hello:
I am working on a Bard Tamer... This means I want to GM Taming and Provoking. Obviously I also need animal lore and musicianship. My question is this... How to build this guy with adequate magic and defence as well..
Any suggestions?

Will have to use magery for healing pet. If only going strictly PVM could always try to drop resist and add eval int or veterinary.

If you have access to cash and militia pet rez, you can drop vet- you will be looking at 10-15k a throw every time your pet dies. Or....go with what mr. Decreamos, aka creepy kid picture guy, says and use an alt with 100 vet to rez your pet
