Lockpicking Issue

I have a character with about 60+ lockpicking skill. Before yesterday I was able to pick most locks on things up to and including Paragon Chests. Then I killed an Air Elemental Paragon and it dropped a Chest. When my Lockpick guy tried to open the Chest he got the "You don't see how that lock can be manipulated" message.
I thought that maybe the Chest was beyond my ability. However, now he gets the same message on whatever container he tries to open via lockpicking.
Also he seems to be unable to get any skill gains in the skill now.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated

That's really odd. Are you keeping Lockpicking at a lower level intentionally? If you want to level it, I would suggest buying a Lockpick set from a player run vendor. These sets normally have 2-3 lockable boxes that you can use to get your Lockpicking up to 90+. After it is recommended that you use skill scrolls or if you want to level it manually, unlock paragon / dungeon / treasure map chests.

I finally figured it out..If you have a tinker who builds a lockable box at tinker skill 50 then he works up to 90 tinker skill the box's ability against lockpicking rises to the current level of the tinker. This can cause issues for a character who is trying to build his skill in lockpicking

Also, would you know where one can find Player run vendors selling these lockpick sets?
Thanks!!
