Hello,

I jsut recently started playing again. Any sound that UO makes has a heavy static/white noise kind of issue. Almost like a bad connection with the speakers/headset. It's only with UOF, though. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Welcome back :) That's not a problem I'm familiar with. Did you install using the UOF Launcher? And which client are you using?

By the way, it may be easier to resolve this via our Discord :) I'd suggest joining that as its great for keeping up with updates, trading and debugging these sorts of problems!

Hello Parsnip,

I did download with the UOF Launcher. I also tried last night uninstalling it and the normal UO client. I just re-downloaded the UOF launcher and still having the same issues. Just don't know what to try and look for to resolve it. Any audio with UOF client cuts out/in and has like a static/inference sound. Its only with UOF. No issues with any other Game including OSI UO. I'm running a Asus S17 with Windows 10 Pro. Any suggestions would be awesome.

Thanks!

I'm kinda stumped on this one. My only other suggestion would be to try turning down the volume in game and/or toggling the sounds / music in options (Alt-O) to see if it is one or the other (or both) causing the static.

Tried all kinds of volume levels and it still happens. If I have the in-game music on it cuts out with that static/crackling sounds. With it off, same with foot steps on. Obviously i can just turn it off, but would like some sound effects. I do IT so I'm pretty good with stuff, but this has me stumped. I'm going to look when I'm off work, but we can still access UOF without the loader right? Just go through razor? If thats still an option, I'll give that a shot.

So, I went under properties for the UOF launcher and turned on compatibility mode and selected to run as admin. Issue is fixed. Just in case anyone ever comes across this odd ball situation.
