Probably a lost cause. Everyone else who considers themselves good runs around in full invul plate armor, with no idea how to actually play.

500 views in months. Just not advertised properly. Also should encourage other players not so wealthy having all same items and not saving up for ******** 3m weapons to be OP.

    and this,

I think the problem is a lack of any advertisement as Peav said, but part of the problem also is that publics are already lackluster. They are not fun because there is no reason for team play at all - only to be selfish and cap flags or chase around the arena for random kills while ignoring the real objective of the game (which is what actually makes ctfs fun - the teamwork and the goal of working together to cap flags and not just mindlessly chase people around spamming explo pots trying to earn PvP rating)

Honestly, what do you get just for winning the game? Nothing.

What do you get if you are selfish? [eventscore points (which can sell for a ton of gold), trophies, and to the uneducated... bragging rights to say I GOT TOP PVP RATING OMGZ I'M SO GUUD (i mean, as if PvP Rating in a public ctf is any indication of how good you are overall at ctf, lol)

I know a guy which wrote the best balancing thread on CTF and if implemented would be way more fun for everyone.

Have to disagree on the scoring system friend. The only way a scoring system will not detract from the way the game is meant to be played is to give all losing teams a low, static number of event points. The winning team gets a static number as well but increased (how much increased can be debated). This way you've got an incentive to work together and win the game as a team, while still providing some incentive for people who may only be interested to join for the event points. This would of course require a different joining system than we have now so that all the good players can't stack on one team so easily.

I do well in CTF. I would join a team (or form a Trin team) but I don't have time to statiegerize or teach a whole team how to play CTF. I'm not at home during prime time 4pm est - 11pm est except Sunday and Monday. Most of my guild mates that are on consistently have similar play times as I do. This really holds us back in terms of putting together a solid four or five to lead a team on a regular basis -- and even then it might ONLY be a four or five person team.

Even then most of our members are more of the causal play type, so its not just putting bodies on the field it is pumping our members up so they are excited about it (not to mention PvP/Play CTF well -- Casual players aren't usually the best at setting up spell hotkey layouts and targeting hotkeys... I don't know why but they just transport to another time and space when we start telling them how to set up targeting hotkeys. I've had the same conversation with new players 50+ times).

I really enjoy CTF and think its a great place to get a feel for PvP/try out new things (without risk of losing all your stuff). I really encourage people to play as often as possible. But for us (I'll just speak for the rest of Trin too, because why not) it isn't that we have zero interest in this we just don't have the time. Sorry fellars, QQ

*If we could all work around a west coast/late night time constraints we could probably form a team, but I don't really think that is fair to E. Coasters.

So this isn't happening? Looks like people aren't interested playing ctfl in 2015.

    Hello You,

    Who is pink wizard?

    I miss CTFs :(

Few points after I have tried first CTF here:
    1) The gaps between walls in the maze are too wide. Therefore in some places 1 wall is not enough to close all the gap.
    2) You can always show the way to opponents and stamina never gets reduced? That is no good. You lose much of interesting tactics because of that.
    3) I do not know what is the points system, but everyone just kills around everyone else, without capturing the flag being the most important goal. It somehow should be adjusted.

    Hey webber, coheed here.

I agree on all 3 points you made and I've proposed to have them changed but no one seems to care or want them changed. The ctfs here are much different than on DFI. A CTF League could still be fun if done right but I've pretty much stopped playing publics because they're never fun. It's just people playing selfishly to try to get a high score so they can feed their ego. Unfortunately I don't think a League will ever happen here.

Also, a pink wizard is peav.

Good to see another old DFI face. We've been suggesting similar changes for a while now, don't think it's gonna get done. It still satisfies that old CTF craving once in a while though.
