Hey guys!

Sphere style has typically been known as a “mage focused” PvP. That will continue to be true for Overdrive; however, there are many things we can do to help the Dexxer community to make Overdrive a better shard overall for every play style.

It’s a big challenge to accomplish but we have the tools, the skill, and creativeness to find solutions. We also have a wonderful community who has already sent me many ideas that can work if implemented correctly.

One thing I want to make clear to Dexxers: You are going to have to change your play style to be successful on this shard. This means you’ll need to learn how to use LOS to avoid being hit by spells and having a basic understanding of Magery so you use it as a supplemental tool for fighting (ex: learning how to fizzle and poison). Check out our YouTube for tutorials on the basics of Magery PvP.


This post will act as a road map for the Dexxer community. It is a living documents so check back frequently to see if there are any updates. Items at the top are soon to be or already implemented. Items at the bottom are strictly ideas for possible future implementation. If you have any ideas or feedback please DM me on Discord.

Healing Update:​

Healing will channel for 6 seconds recovering 8 HP per second. Healing can be interrupted by any damage or fizzling spell. Poison will be cured in 2 seconds but will not heal. There is no cooldown.

The philosophy is to give Dexxers an opportunity to heal as they are getting pummeled with Magery. The healing amount and time was purposely synced with the Heal spell (first circle). We will closely monitor this change and make balance adjustments as needed.

BALANCING OPTIONS IF ITS NOT POWERFUL ENOUGH
- Adjusting healing amount per second
- Make bandages not fizzle if you’re under a certain skill level of Magery (such as 50 points)
- Making fizzling spells not able to interrupt your bandages

BALANCING OPTIONS IF ITS TOO POWERFUL
- Adjusting healing amount per second
- Providing flat healing after X seconds (Ex: 25 hp at 3 second and another 25 at 6 seconds)
- Add mana cost to using bandages in some way (only in pvp not pvm)

BALANCING IF ITS ABUSED BY MAGES
- Making fizzling spells not able to interrupt your bandages if you're below a certain skill level of Magery (such as 50 points)

Increased Accuracy:​

We will be increasing accuracy for pvp to either 100% or close to 100% hit rate. This will be balanced by lowering current damage.

IDEAS FOR THE FUTURE

- Items which lower Magery damage dealt to you but reduces your Magery damage output. This could be a set of armor or maybe even jewelry.
- Special moves that make players walk for a short period of time
- Add the ability for Parrying to deflect magic
- Poisoning updated so poisoned weapons can only be cured with cure potions. This ability can only be triggered if you have GM poisoning.
