Have you ever found yourself wandering the wilderness admiring its beauty when you happen upon some ruins. You look around noticing the place is filled with undead vermin. You think to yourself "why haven't I been to this one." That's when you realize that you do not have a rune to there and that this would be a great place to mark a rune.
