can you place deeded items on them? like a deeded tree or statue maker type things?

I didn't try, I only tried to place statues.

Maybe you could ask @jeffe to test it out for you, he scooped them up

If you try and build something on top of a pedestal it says it isn't accessible, I used a specified target macro to build under the pedestal and it 'ate' my small forge (It's probably under my house or something) There's a few things you could play with like a target in a higher or lower z axis, but I'd say no.

I'm not surprised, I actually could not raise or lower the statue I placed on mine but that could also be because it was on the front steps, not entirely sure.
