As to the ideas presented in this thread: bonus points for creativity but generally that means ideas that will not be implemented.

I really don't think anything needs to be done for players who are in stat because they should have other characters to fall back on at all times and an entire world of stuff to do....craft, PvM, PvP on blues, gamble.

I think ideas like those suggested are best left to events and one-off occurences.

Is that why I see Ansem on his tamer all of a sudden?

Seriously I see more bullshit from blue pvpers/factioners than reds. Maybe cause there are bugger all reds?

The last few ideas, espec the monster orc one are ********. Can players who dont pvp not comment.
The whole reason Stat Loss exists is so that the PKs don't chase away the rest of the shard. Without something to keep PKs in check we will end up with an empty shard since all the non-PvPers will leave and the PKs will follow them as they just lost all their easy targets.

Seriously all the reds that cry so hard about stat loss here wouldn't have lasted a minute on the official shards during this time period. You know the time where there was permanent stat loss if you were resurrected with any short term murder counts (8 hours a piece) and those murder counts only decayed while logged in. Also it took months to build a character so that Stat Loss was far far harsher. I am not advocating for that harsh of a system but you should realize how good you have it here. If you can't hack it with the care bear penalties we have here you have no business being a PK.

Well said Bane. OSI was much worse in that respect.

Tamers, Bards, Mages and any other PVM template needs some inherent risk when they venture out into a dungeon. The extra risk from pks is part of what makes this fun in comparison to a Trammel. On the other end, the pks need a check (stat loss) such as this one to keep things balanced (see checks and balances in the US government). The system here is forgiving enough for pks to keep them in the game and not so carebear on the PVM side of things.

if there were more areas without statloss that had a reason for going there, then there would be much more pvp. Most blues instant stat - more so the blue ***** pvpers because they get sour about getting owned.

Red v blue pvp also allows newer players to attempt pvp at their discretion, without having to deal with the garbage that is factions where 1 guy sees an orange, getting a huge hard on and calls his entire stun mage gank squad for a good old 5v1 raping.

I agree on parts of stat, but 48 hours is way too long, and this shard really lacks red v blue pvp because whenever a red squad hangs around for too long, horrible blue guilds like toke call every blue possible to help gank, then instant stat whilst patting themselves on the back for using double their numbers on blues.

I am in favor of having areas that have no stat loss and provide a much higher reward for farming there. We actually already have one, Khaldun, adding more is cool by me.

I disagree that 48 hours is too long when you can have 2 accounts and up to 6 red characters. Also it only takes about 3-4 days to fully macro any PvP template to 7xGM. So assuming that a PvP oriented player uses 2 characters to farm/craft on that leave 4 characters that can go red. If all 4 of those characters are constantly in stat loss maybe you are better off as a blue factioner where the penalties for dying aren't as harsh.

Another thing though. A lot of reds claim elite status because of the higher stakes they fight under. But then those same reds turn around and ***** about getting insta-stated. So you can't have both. Either the reds are the better PvPers because they are risking 48 hours of playtime on every death or we have lower penalties and get those same zerg guilds you mentioned all go red because even the noobs can stomach the penalty.

Disclaimer: When I am out farming on my tamer when I kill a red 99% of the time I insta-stat. I have my nice list of PKs that have rezzed me which I sell back the heads of. But for most PKs I stopped doing that because after selling back their head I get camped all to hell by them and 2-3 of their friends (killing the healer, rez kill, etc...). So trash PKs is why I insta-stat and I never fault anyone else for doing the same.
