Here are some ideas for either extra benefits for the base talisman or new relics:
  • Allow shields to parry spells and firebreath from untamed monsters at the same frequency as a normal parry.
  • Allow potion use when a shield is equipped if currently engaged and one tile away from a hostile (must be aggressive not a woodland animal) monster.
  • Shorten time it takes to bandage yourself if currently engaged and one tile away from a hostile (must be aggressive not a woodland animal) monster.
The first two could be one relic or a scaling benefit of the talisman. The last could be it's own relic.

1) Spell damage is reduced by gaining talisman levels. Quench exists to provide immunity to firebreath every so often.
2) Either drop the shield or drop your wep. Otherwise it could create PVP issues. Not to mention that'd be a nerf to disarm/thieves.
3) Potions are enough to supplement bandages and to tank efficiently.
