I am guessing this was answered on a differetn thread, but in case it wasnt. To refresh the house without a door, just double click the house sign with a owner, co-owner and possible a friended character.

Actually Bromista answered it in this thread not long after it was posted. But I applaud you for trying to be helpful though.
