Old Account- Character Gone but on Server?

Hi all-

Had a hankerin' to play some UO again, and remembered this Shard that I started playing back in 2013 (judging from my forum join date).

I logged into my account, but there were no characters available. Makes sense, since the account is so old- I'm sure inactive accounts and player characters are purged once in a while.

But when it came time to name my PC, it said the name was taken - one of my old PCs.

So does this mean my old PC is still somehow in the server?

If so, would love to play the old character, but it doesn't seem to be there.

Someone probably took the name you previously utilized.

Are you sure you logged into the same account as before? Even a slight misspelling would just create a whole new account, with 0 characters, and you obviously wouldn't be able to select your previous name, since it still existed.

That is possible- I will page a GM to see if I can figure it out
