Which one is better for pvp? Or are they more less equal and it's down to personal preference.

Katana is slightly faster than Kyrss by around 10% assuming 2001 era accurate wep info.

Kyrss has a lower min and higher max damage but again very little difference.

Katana would be my choice as I think swords is a better overall skill and pvm/pvp weps are more accessible.

If for pvp then fencing could be a good choice as you can always swap to a spear for para blow when running people down or in group fights.

Ariakan is right, both weapons have similar average damage and speed but the katana dmg is less variable compared to the kryss, i.e. katana hits are more consistent (closer to the average dmg) while kryss tends to deal more extreme (low or high dmg) hits.

Manolo is right. Katana uses a bell curve for damage weighted to the middle of the range. A kryss is an equal distribution across the entire range. They have the exact same average damage over 100k swings.
