Tactics for an archer?

Someone in game just told me that tactics doesn't effect the damage for archery.
Just wondering if this is true or not....

that is true ... but it does effect the hit rate.. so in a nut shell technically it does effect accumulated damage.. < single hit no DPS yes >

I thought tactics only affected damage and not hit rate. Is this rule for this server only?
Also, probably best to just keep tactics anyways right?

That is how I understand tactics.
and yes I would keep it .. if nothing else the fact is your doing more dps with it then without ,, however it is calculated .

Tactics gives accuracy for archery instead of damage. Magic weapons will increase your Archery instead of Tactics as well. You wont hit much without tactics from what I understand.

OK cool thanks a lot everybody. Tactics is still a must in my book.
Great idea by the admins to balance the power of bows. The idea of a "midevil bowman" is accuracy anyways. And this way you're not doing massive damage with 125 tactics and dmg bonus from tactics WHILE ranged.
Another impressive feature.

Yeah your base tactics still effects your damage. Without tactics you'd be hitting for a lot less damage. The accuracy modifier on magic bows goes to archery thus effecting your hit chance %. But you definitely want that 100% dmg bonus with GM tactics.

Actually no, just like ALL other weapon skills -- the weapon skill is what affects accuracy and tactics provides a damage bonus.

Archery is different from other weapon skills because the accuracy modifier on magic weapons provides a bonus to the archery skill instead of tactics.
