Town killing

So I started playing about two weeks ago and was wondering. I killed a couple of people in Britt that were afk macroing one was spell casting so I knew he must have regs on him. Being the thief I am I stole all them from him. Then after he didn't have anything left I shot him with my bow from far so I didn't attract the attention of guards. So story goes he had 400-500 of the regs of the spell he was casting. I logged in today and they were gone out of my bank.... So is this illegal or bannable or something because I didn't see anything about it before.

I thought maybe it was and there was a squealer that whined to a dev or something.

Well we will see because I was suspended from the thieves guild for murdering so if I am still suspended from that then the devs took the stuff from me and there wasn't a revert. I'll post about it when I get home to check.

Logic demands that you should still have the regs if your murder count is still there since you stole first, and murdered after.
