I'm currently at 80.4 real taming 84 shown, I'm reading guides such as D-Wades and he refers to "shown taming" I always thought that you had to gain based off of real skill but am I wrong ? should I be taming according to my shown skill?

Shown skill is skill level with stat bonus applied. The higher the stats. For instance intelligence gives bonus to magery. The higher your int and lower the skill the higher the bonus. Real skill is the one to pay attention to That is without the bonus and is the actual skill you have gained. Does that help?

Haly is right. If you plan on using taming skill scrolls then you need to go by the real skill level and use them on whole numbers, such as for instance: 85.0 and not 85.1, 85.2, 85.3, etc.

At 84 shown you can begin to incorporate lava lizards into your taming rotation that consists of cats and bulls. Once you get to 87, you can add HHs to the rotation. GL its a rewarding skill.
