Over 1000 ingots to make one slayer?

It might be worth it if you were able to select the slayer type when it's created... other wise it's not worth the effort.

It would also be nice to not have to use the crafting area if you own a soul forge.

I go with 3k ingots, and it's the same as any loot drop...sometimes I get 20 slayers off that 3k and other times I get less than 5...it's just a gamble really

If you are looking for your own stockpile this is what i did:
Get 120 smith
UOsteam macro written by Eppy
20k iron ingots
Craft away
distribute your super slayers across backpacks identified with Statues
never have to hunt for slayer weapons for months at a time
priceless

Not being able to choose which type if slayer you craft keeps weapon costs from going even lower than they already are.

Miners dont really have a purpose if you are happy paying 8-9gp per ingot from NPC vendors, and only care about iron.

Unless if you are looking for 10k plus ingots and no one has been buying them off the vendor so they only have 40 at a time. Yes, I would say they have a purpose.
