It's all a form of control and power. People do it for whatever reason, to feel dominant, important, etc. Life is competitive, video games are competitive. This is UO.

I think you may be onto something here, it is pretty common for criminals to be the first person to cry foul when they notice someone else committing the same crime as them.

I imagine there are some people who use methods to change their IP or get additional IPs to get extra accounts but there isn't much staff here can do to track that.

This is a good vendor location, vendors are visible/accessible only 9 tiles west of the moongate and only a couple tiles outside the guard zone. There are other vendor houses in the area and player traffic around moongates is always high.
